Service Interruption US Datacenter - Production – April 24, 2018 - [RESOLVED]

We had a brief interruption in some of our services in the US data center. Some transactions, reports and inquiries that involved invoices failed to execute. The issue is now resolved

Impact time/date:

Tuesday, April 24, 03:55 am until 04:25 am

Impacted systems:

  • Production

Impacted services:

  • BuyNow
  • Web Services
  • SnapConsole


  • During the incident, some payment transactions in the US datacenter failed

  • Also, some inquiries and reports related to invoices failed

  • The BlueSnap Operations team moved traffic to the UK datacenter to eliminate impact while we continued to troubleshoot the incident

  • All services are up and running at this point

Root cause:

  • Issue resulted from a maintenance job that ran on the US database server that caused certain functionality to fail.

  • Changes were applied to the maintenance job to prevent future occurrence of this incident
